The world's Fantastic Four 🌍🥇

The news that makes you hold your head high and proud of our young people! 🤩 At APU

Four brilliant engineers graduated from the Engineering department, whom people nicknamed "The Fantastic Four"

Chong Chan Heng

Goh Chuk Fun

Pang Cheng Hsiang

Samantha Koay Yenn Xian

They made history with their invention of an autonomous guided vehicle (AGV), and not just for show: it has a great and important purpose in our daily lives. 🚀✨

The invention that won them this precious award is called "SecurePath AGV". And this is not just any ordinary robot you see in films 🎬 it is a very smart robot, designed to improve safety and speed up response in emergencies🚨

What makes it special? This robot combines artificial intelligence (AI) With and advanced robotics, and it also has a dedicated chatbot built on an LLM, anda computer vision system to detect anything, andan advanced navigation system In short, it offers practical, smart solutions to social engineering problems that can be deployed in any environment around us, whether in malls, hospitals, or even crowded public places🏥🛍️

Challenges of creativity and success 🚧🏆

The "Fantastic Four" representative, Chong, explained the secret of their win: the secret lies in the complexity of applying their invention, the clarity with which they were able to explain the impact of their project in the real world, and the strength of their technical presentation in front of the judging panel. Through this competition, the team learned priceless lessons: how to present complex engineering ideas in a clear and convincing way, how to highlight the most important points of innovation and practicality, and also how to accept constructive criticism. They also saw amazing ideas from other participants from all over the world, which broadened their horizons and their understanding of the latest trends in technological innovation.

It was an exciting and excellent experience for us to present our project at an international level, meet other innovators and exchange ideas in different fields, says Chong, adding that this competition added great value to their studies at APU: it helped us apply the technical knowledge we gained at the university in a real-world context, sharpened our critical thinking and presentation skills, and gave us a real boost of confidence to face any engineering challenges in the future." 📈🥳

APU, a factory of innovators 🏭👨‍🔬

Professor Dr Vinesh Thiruchelvam, Executive Director of Innovation and Enterprise at APU, says that this global recognition confirms APU's commitment to honing talent so that they become innovators who solve complex social challenges, by combining computing and engineering skills.
