Service Terms

This page sets out the terms of MAIGA's services and the payment and refund policy. Students accept them before their application is created.

Who We Are & Acceptance

MAIGA Educational Services (Maiga Educational Services PLT, registration no. 201704000720) is an education consultancy based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at T3-22-08, 3 Towers, 296 Jalan Ampang, Kampung Berembang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur. In these terms it is called "MAIGA", "we" or "us".

These service terms apply when you apply for or pay for any MAIGA service, in addition to the Website Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. By accepting them before your application is created, or by paying, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted them.

Our Services

MAIGA helps students study in Malaysia. Depending on what is available at the time of your request, our services include:

  • Free academic consultations, and paid private sessions with specialists.
  • Applications and admission to Malaysian universities and English language centres.
  • Help preparing and following up the student visa file.
  • Student accommodation arrangements and airport pickup.
  • Certificate attestation with Malaysian authorities.
  • Orientation courses and workshops, English lessons and private classes.
  • The internship programme and help with research proposals.
  • Free website tools such as the admission chance checker, programme comparison, cost calculator and living plan.
  • Instalments through Tamara, and offers and discounts from MAIGA and its partners.

The details and price of each service are set out on its page, in your quotation or in the registration form. We may add, change or stop services at any time; this does not affect a service you have already paid for.

3

Student Obligations & Documents

As a student you agree to:

  • Provide true, complete and up-to-date information and documents (certificates, transcripts, passport, photos and so on) on time.
  • Never submit a forged or altered document. If we find one, we stop the service immediately without a refund and may inform the relevant authority.
  • Pay the fees due on time and meet the requirements of the university or centre and of the Malaysian Immigration Department.
  • Not use another agent for the same application without telling us, as this can disrupt the process.
  • Respond to our messages and follow your application from your account on the website.

By sending us your documents, you authorise MAIGA to share them with universities, language centres, accommodation providers and government bodies as far as needed to deliver the service you asked for.

4

Admission, Visa & Third-Party Decisions

MAIGA is a consultancy and intermediary. The final admission decision belongs to the university or centre, the visa decision belongs to the Malaysian Immigration Department and other government bodies, and recognition of qualifications belongs to the authorities of the student's home country. MAIGA therefore does not guarantee admission, a visa, recognition of a qualification or a scholarship, and a refusal by any of these bodies is not on its own a reason to refund fees for a service that was carried out properly.

Your studies, accommodation and payments with any other party (university, centre, accommodation provider, Tamara, banks) are also governed by that party's own terms and policies.

5

Fees & Payment

  • Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) unless stated otherwise, and are shown before payment on the service page, quotation or invoice.
  • MAIGA's office and administration fees are shown in your quotation and in the payment and refund policy below.
  • Tuition and university or centre fees, visa, medical check, insurance, accommodation, flights, and bank or transfer charges may not be included in our service price, and are paid as the relevant party requires.
  • We accept card payments through a secure payment provider, bank transfer, instalments through Tamara and other methods we announce. We do not store your card details on our servers.
  • Work starts once payment is confirmed or the instalment plan is approved. We issue an invoice or receipt for every payment.
  • If your quotation differs from these terms, the quotation applies.
  • Prices and university fees may change from time to time; this does not affect what you have already paid to MAIGA.
6

Payment & Refund Policy

We want every student to know their rights and obligations before registering. This policy is read together with the price quote and the registration form, and applies without prejudice to any mandatory laws in force.

This policy does not apply to amounts a student pays directly to the institute: the seat deposit is non-refundable, and any refund of fees paid to the institute follows the institute's own policy only.

First: payments and refunds through outside providers

1) Paying with Tamara — Tamara terms and conditions: tamara.co/ar-sa/terms-and-conditions

  • Refunds follow Tamara's terms, and claims are made through the Tamara platform.
  • Once the student has started studying and 3 days have passed, no amount is refunded.
  • If the student claims after arriving at the institute and before 3 days have passed, 30% of the remaining fees is deducted and the rest is refunded to the student.
  • Please make and follow up your claim through the Tamara platform. Maiga Golden does not refund any amount directly to the student or customer.

2) Paying with e-wallets

  • Only e-wallets accepted by MAIGA can be used. Keep the transaction receipt and reference number.
  • An approved refund goes back to the same wallet that paid, and is sent to another wallet or account only on the wallet owner's written request.
  • Transfer or top-up fees charged by the wallet provider are not refunded, and the student bears any currency exchange difference.
  • The time the money takes to arrive depends on the wallet provider. MAIGA's responsibility ends once the transfer is made and its proof is sent to the student.
  • The refund cases in sections 2 and 3 apply.

3) Paying by bank transfer or bank card

  • The student sends the transfer receipt in their own name or their guardian's. Work starts only once the money reaches the company's account.
  • An approved refund goes back to the same bank account the transfer came from.
  • Bank transfer fees, intermediary bank fees and exchange differences are not refunded; the student bears them both when paying and when refunded.
  • Card payments are refunded to the same card; when it shows in the account depends on the issuing bank.
  • The refund cases in sections 2 and 3 apply.

4) Paying Maiga Golden directly

  • Amounts paid directly to Maiga Golden follow the refund cases in sections 2 and 3 of this policy.
  • For Tamara payments, Maiga Golden does not refund the student directly; settlement goes through Tamara under its terms.
  • Refund requests are made in writing with the payment receipt, as in section 10, and are refunded by the original payment method.
  • The office fee (RM 650) is never refunded, in any case, once the student's process has started.

1. Services, registration and payment

MAIGA provides education consulting, applications to institutions, housing coordination, pre-departure guidance and follow-up, as set out in the price quote or registration form. Work starts after payment is confirmed or instalments are approved, and amounts due must be paid on time.

Where the student's price quote differs from this policy, the specific terms agreed in the quote apply, subject to mandatory laws and the policies of the independent parties involved.

Office fee: RM 650 (Malaysian ringgit), never refunded in any case once the student's process has started.

2. When can a refund be requested?

The following applies to amounts paid through MAIGA, whether tuition fees or a seat booking:

CaseWhat happens
Withdrawal within 14 days of payment onlyThe office fee (RM 650) is deducted and the booking amount is refunded in full.
Student visa refused by the Malaysian authoritiesNothing is refunded after payment, including the office fee and visa fees paid directly to the authorities.

3. Housing

  • If housing fees are paid, including through the Tamara platform, and a housing contract is signed, the student must complete the full contract term; otherwise no amount paid is refunded.
  • A housing booking deposit is not refunded if the booking is cancelled.

4. Cases that may not lead to a refund

Late documents, false or incomplete information, not meeting admission or visa requirements, returning home early for personal reasons, disrupting the process by working with other agents, or delays caused by parties outside MAIGA's control. Each case is considered on its actual cause, the agreement and the relevant laws.

5. Visa and travel

Granting or refusing a visa is the decision of the government authorities, and MAIGA does not guarantee a visa or passing an interview. A visa refusal does not in itself make fees for properly delivered services refundable.

  • Paid with Tamara: Tamara's policy applies (see "First").
  • Paid through MAIGA: section 2 applies.

6. Instalments with Tamara or others

  • The instalment plan is a separate agreement between the student and the payment provider, under its schedule and terms.
  • An approved refund goes back through the original payment route to the instalment provider, which settles it under its terms.
  • The student keeps paying instalments due until the provider confirms they have been changed or closed.
  • In a bank dispute, give correct information and do not claim the same amount twice. This policy does not limit any legal right to dispute.

7. Responsibility of MAIGA and institutions

MAIGA is an education consultant and intermediary and is responsible for the services it committed to deliver itself. Fees received directly by a university, institute or housing provider are not a debt owed by MAIGA just because MAIGA coordinated or registered. Each party's obligations follow its own contract, policies and the relevant laws. The limits of liability do not cover anything the law does not allow to be excluded, including fraud or gross negligence where applicable.

8. Student obligations and data

The student must give correct, up-to-date information, pay amounts due, and meet official deadlines and requirements. For a minor, a parent or legal guardian gives the needed approvals. MAIGA uses student data to deliver its services and contact the relevant parties, and the student can ask to stop marketing messages, under the data protection rules in force.

9. Exceptional circumstances

If events beyond reasonable control occur, such as disasters, airport closures or sudden government decisions, MAIGA will try to offer a suitable alternative, postpone the service for up to one academic year where possible, or cancel it and settle fees after accounting for work already done and allowed deductions.

10. How to request a refund or complain

  • Send the request in writing to the official email: [email protected].
  • Include the student's name, programme, institution and reason, with proof of payment and supporting documents.
  • Complaints about a MAIGA service should be made within 7 days of that service where possible, and are reviewed within 14 working days.
  • Deadlines count from the date the written request arrives. Once finally approved, the refund is made within 14 working days, plus the bank's or instalment provider's processing time.

11. Final provisions

The parties will try to settle any dispute amicably within 30 days of written notice. This policy is governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the competent courts of Kuala Lumpur hear disputes under the mandatory rules. Future changes apply to new requests after they are published and material changes are communicated to the student. Documented electronic correspondence is accepted as evidence as the law allows.

Completing registration and payment means the student has read and accepts this policy, without prejudice to their legal rights.

Accommodation & Airport Pickup

  • MAIGA arranges accommodation with independent landlords and housing companies. Photos and prices shown are for guidance and may change with availability; the accommodation contract is what applies.
  • The accommodation contract is between you and the housing provider. You must follow the house rules and contract period and pay rent and deposit on time.
  • Send us your flight details early enough for us to arrange airport pickup. MAIGA does not cover extra costs caused by a flight change or delay you did not tell us about.
8

Courses, Sessions & Bookings

  • Orientation courses, workshops, private sessions and English lessons follow the times and conditions shown on their page when you book.
  • Please attend on time. Missing a session without notice may count as a used session.
  • MAIGA may change a time or instructor, or move a session online, when needed, and will tell you in advance.
  • Attendance certificates MAIGA issues for its own courses are not accredited academic qualifications unless stated otherwise.
  • The internship programme and advertised jobs follow their own application terms.
9

Offers, Discounts & Vouchers

  • Every offer, discount or voucher is subject to the conditions and validity period stated with it.
  • Unless stated otherwise, offers cannot be combined, can be used once per student, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be transferred to another person.
  • Partner discounts are provided by the partner and follow the partner's terms.
  • MAIGA may cancel any offer or voucher that is misused or used fraudulently.
10

Limitation of Liability

MAIGA is responsible for the services it has itself agreed to provide. Fees received directly by another party are not a debt owed by MAIGA just because MAIGA coordinated or registered them. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAIGA is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and its total liability will not exceed the service fees you paid to MAIGA for the service concerned. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded, such as for fraud or gross negligence.

11

Events Beyond Our Control

If events beyond reasonable control happen, such as disasters, pandemics, airport closures or sudden government decisions, MAIGA will try to offer a suitable alternative, postpone the service for up to one academic year where possible, or cancel it and settle the fees after deducting the work already done.

12

Complaints & Disputes

  • Send refund requests and complaints in writing to [email protected] or by WhatsApp, with the student's name, programme, institution, reason and proof of payment.
  • Please raise a complaint within 7 days of the service concerned where possible; we review it within 14 working days. Time limits are counted from the date we receive your written request.
  • Both sides will try to settle any dispute amicably within 30 days of written notice before going to any other body.
  • If you dispute a payment with your bank, give accurate information and do not claim the same amount twice.
13

Changes, Language & Governing Law

  • We may change these terms. Changes apply to new applications from the date they are published on this page, and we will tell you about significant changes. Continuing to use the website after publication means you accept the updated terms.
  • These terms are published in Arabic and English with the same meaning. If they differ, the version the student agreed to at sign-up applies.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia and the Malaysian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting any mandatory legal rights the student has in their home country.
  • Recorded electronic communications (email, WhatsApp and account records) count as evidence.
