About the Program
The Computing programme gives students a comprehensive foundation in computer science and information technology, the broadest entry to technical careers. Students study programming, data structures and algorithms, databases, operating systems, networks, web and application development, information security, and introductions to artificial intelligence and cloud computing. They learn to solve problems logically and build complete software solutions, and choose a specialisation track in the final years. This PhD runs for 3 - 5 and is built on original research under academic supervision, preparing graduates for academic, research and senior advisory roles.

📌 Admission Terms and Requirements for the PhD
✅ First: Admission Conditions
The applicant must meet one of the following criteria:
📍 🎓 A Master's degree in the same field or a related field, with 💼 3 to 5 years of experience.
📍 📜 A Master's degree in a field different from the one being applied for, with 💼 3 to 5 years of work experience in the required field.
📍 🎖️ Other academic qualifications equivalent to the above and recognised by the 🏛️ Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Malaysian Ministry of Education.
📑 Second: Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following documents as scanned (PDF) files, not photographed with a mobile phone:
📌 🖼️ A personal photo with a ⬜ white background, in 📏 passport-photo size.
📌 🛂 A copy of a passport valid for at least 18 months.
📌 📖 A copy of the Bachelor's degree certificate or 📜 graduation document and transcript, translated into English if not originally in English.
📌 📚 A copy of the Master's degree certificate or 📜 graduation document and transcript, translated into English if not originally in English.
📌 📂 A CV showing your 📖 academic background and 💼 work experience, with your 📧 email address and 📞 contact number.
📌 📩 Two recommendation letters from the 🏛️ university or 💼 employer, in English, with the referees' details:

📌 💼 Experience certificate covering at least 3 to 5 years.
🏅 English Language Requirements for the PhD
📌 📚 Accepted English language tests and minimum scores:
🔹 📝 IELTS: minimum 6.0 - 6.5.
🔹 🌍 TOEFL (iBT): minimum 60 - 90.
🔹 📖 TOEFL (PBT): minimum 550.
🔹 🏫 MUET (Malaysian University English Test): minimum Band 3 - 4.
🔹 📜 PTE (Pearson Test of English): minimum 50 - 58.
📌 ✅ Exemptions from the English language requirements:
✅ If your previous 🎓 university studies were in English (official proof from the university must be provided).
✅ If the applicant is from an English-speaking 🌍 country approved by the university.
📌 🔄 Alternative options if the requirements are not met:
Students can 📖 enrol on a preparatory English language course at approved institutes before starting their studies.
